  3. Thanks Paul. Here is your link in clickable form:

    The "secret sauce" to making a link clickable in Google Group Comments is that you have to enter your link in HTML code.

    For example, Villages Philosophy Comments Blog

    I entered the above link as:

    {a href="https://vilphil.blogspot.com"}Villages Philosophy Comments Blog{/a}

    NOTE: In this example, I had to substitute "<" and >" for "{" and "}" to keep it from activating. When you want to enter a link, use "<" and ">" where I used "{" and "}"

    HTML code for a link is:

    {a href="URL"}text to be displayed{/a}

  4. Lou, Paul and ALL:

    I really appreciated Lou's talk which showed lots of thought and excellent PowerPoint charts! THANKS.

    Paul's link to self-flying drones is interesting and will be practical for some applications, but, IMHO, is not a widely applicable solution.

    In my free online novel, https://2052hp.blogspot.com/, I speculate on technology of the Mid-21st Century. In a few decades, we'll have affordable, human-sized robots with intelligence at the human level. That will open the possibility of a couple of ideas related to the future of cars:

    Robot-driven: The human=sized robot will sit in the driver's seat, drive the car, and help you with your luggage and other tasks. We already have cars with sensors for distance-keeping and lane-keeping. These sensors, combined with the 360 degree vision system of the robot, should suffice. The added cost should be less than the $50,000+ estimated by Lou, and the robot will be available up to 24-hours a day to do other work!

    You own the passenger module and rent the "wheels": In this concept, individuals will still have the convenience of having their personal stuff in a personal car. When at home, the module will be in an accessible niche in your house, like a small room. When you need to travel, the "wheels" will arrive, automatically mount the passenger module, and self-drive you to your destination. If your trip is longer than 50 miles, or so, your passenger module will be shifted to a multi-passenger bus or train.

    Love, Ira
