Beginning with the most basic (walking), Ira will trace human-powered transport  through paddling and cross-country skiing up to the ultimate (the bicycle). What an amazing invention! Ordinary people freely propel themselves through space and time. Slow enough to enjoy the view, yet fast enough to cover significant distances, in a healthy, socially satisfying, and environmentally friendly manner.
